Yala National Park

Yala national park is largest park in Sri Lanka spread out over 129,700 ha or 1297 sqkm and situated 290 km away from capital of Colombo. It is bordering to southern east coast and divided to five blocks. It forms a vast complex of wildlife protected areas which provides a contiguous tract of natural forest, for wild animals. Wide range of wildlife, such as elephants, sloth bears, spotted deers, sambars, crocodiles, wild boars, monkeys, water buffaloes, peacocks, variety of birds and highest density of leopards makes the park most preferred among the wildlife enthusiasts.
